Psalm 73

My favorite band, BarlowGirl has a song by this name. One of the members of the band describes it so well. This is what she says:
This guy (Asaph) was looking at the world, and he saw the world, and he saw how great everybody looked, and how easy their lives looked when they were following the world’s ways and following the world’s rules, and they looked like they were having this amazing, care-free life. And then he saw his own life, and he was trying to follow God, and he was trying to be a great, holy man, but his life was really hard, and he had his struggles, and he had hard times. He’s like: "God, I’m trying to live for you! I’m trying to do the best that I can! But how come everybody else in the world who doesn’t even care about you looks like they are having this amazing, care-free life?" But you know what? They are so empty on the inside because their life is just...they are striving after things that will never fulfill them. And then the verse just goes on to say: "But God, I see you and your glory. And I see you in all that you are, and all the things that I saw in the world doesn’t even compare to who you are." Because God is going to be there in our life when we have our struggles, when we have our hard times, and there will always be somebody in our life to carry us through.

The lyrics of the song by BarlowGirl say this:

I've had enough of living life for only me
And reaching just for the things
That keep destroying me
So sick of envying the lives of so many I see
Somehow believing that they have what I need
Chorus:My God's enough for me!
This world has nothing I need
In this whole life I've seen
My God's enough, enough for me
I can't explain why I suffer though I live for You
Those who deny You they have it better than I do
Cover my eyes now so that my heart can finally see
That in the end only You mean anything
Whom have I in heaven but You
Nothing I desire above you
My heart may fail but not You
You are mine forever

What a good message! Remember that you are not alone. You aren't the only person feeling discouraged by your life, because I am too. Here is what the actual Psalm says:

Don't give up your faith if you feel like you are alone...God is always always with you.
